Dear Parents(s) or Guardian(s):
The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priorities. To provide
schools an opportunity to practice emergency response procedures, all students
and staff will participate in a Districtwide emergency preparedness drill on Thursday,
October 17, 2024 at 10:35a.m. Please be advised that students will be dismissed at the
regular time on this day.
The goals of the training drill are to improve our ability to protect students and
employees, save lives, and protect property. As part of the drill, the students and staff
will participate in the activation of our school’s Integrated Safe School Plan. For
information about how your school prepares for emergencies, you may check the
website: https://www.lausd.org/pei.
Please make sure that all contact information for your child is current, so that in the
event of an actual emergency, we can reach you. Contact Benjamin Lopez, Senior
Office Clerk at 213-989-1203 or log on to the LAUSD Parent Portal to update your
contact information.
Prior to the drill, please discuss with your child your family’s home emergency
preparedness plan. Resources are available to help you prepare for emergencies,
such as, by gathering essential items you already have around your home, and
preparing an emergency contact list. The American Red Cross has valuable
information in English or in Spanish on their website or by calling the Los Angeles
Chapter at (310) 445-9908.
You are encouraged to participate in our drill; contact Maria Marquez, Parent
Representative at 2123-989-1203 to do so or if you have any questions or need further
information.
Sincerely,
Victor Flores
Principal
